Our vision and mission

As a Christian community in Woodchester, we look to encourage and support each other as we learn and grow in faith and become more like Jesus.

Our vision is to show our local and wider community that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is Good News for us all, to witness for him in this place and to be a shining light in the darkness. We are a mixed group of very ordinary people, but as our understanding of God’s immeasurable love for each of us grows, we strive to share God’s extraordinary love with the wider community.

Putting our vision into practice we aim through the Spirit of God to:

• Welcome and include everyone as children of God - whoever we are, whatever we’ve done, we welcome everyone through generosity and hospitality

• We strive to encourage each other to join in and put the gifts God’s Spirit has given us to good use

• Be alert to the needs of others and respond with love and practical help

• Treat each other and all strangers with love and acceptance, bearing with one another when we let ourselves and others down

• Listen to different views with an open mind and treat everyone with love and respect, even when we disagree

• Embrace life to the full, thanking God for the blessings we have and rejoicing in the peace and hope we have in Christ Jesus
