Bell Ringing at St.Mary’s
Church Bells
St Mary’s has an active and enthusiastic band of bell ringers, with 6 fine bells:
dove.cccbr.org.uk/tower/11107.
We practise regularly on Friday evenings from 7:30 - 9:00 and ring each Sunday from 10:15 -11:00 for morning service.
We are members of the Gloucester and Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers, which has a good website packed with information - including for the Stroud Branch: www.bellsgandb.org.uk.
For more information about visiting, please contact our Tower Captain, Phil Taylor, at woodchester.tower@bellsgandb.org.uk
For information about learning to ring, please contact the Stroud Branch learning coordinator, Sue Pouncey on 07866 487911, or susan@dacgp.plus.com.
Hand Bells
We have a lovely set of hand bells in Woodchester which you may have heard rung at our Christmas Eve Carol Service. We have a small dedicated team of people who love to ring them and we meet to practice from 6.30 to 7.30pm every other Friday night.
We would welcome anyone who might be interested in learning how to ring, -you don’t need any musical training or any particular skill except for enthusiasm!
If you would like to have a go then we would love to see you! Please contact Helen Jackson email cground101@gmail.com; or telephone 07471 204221 so that we can let you know when we are meeting next.
